How do static IP’s work on business class modems?

Business class modems currently support static IP addresses. Static IP’s are assigned to the business modem. The business modem will still have standard router functions, and will provide an internal DHCP address to any clients connected to it. The business modem does not support bridge mode, however we can DMZ or 1:1 NAT the external static IP we assign to a certain internal DHCP client, so that you can manage all port forwarding, etc on your own router / network setup.

Static IP’s by default will not be given a reverse DNS or PTR entry, however if you would like a reverse DNS / PTR entry please let us know in a support ticket and we can create the required entry for you.
